Top 5 Baby Travel Products

We just recently took our first family vacation with the girls! We drove to Cape Cod for a week long vacation at the beach. There were a few items we found particularly useful during our trip that I wanted to share with you. The girls are currently ages 1 & 2, for reference. These 5 products helped to make our time away from home more convenient and enjoyable for the entire family. Keep scrolling to see our TOP 5 BABY TRAVEL PRODUCTS and how we used them!

1. TRAVEL CRIB

I’m not sure how we would have survived our vacation without the BABYBJORN Travel Crib! I was nervous about the girls sleeping away from home for the first time. They are both very routine oriented and love their cribs at home. We ended up purchasing the BABYBJORN Travel Crib which is safe, simple and lightweight (only 13 lbs.) You can set it up with one easy movement and everything collapses into a compact bag for easy travel. We brought 2 of these cribs, one for each girl – the size is suitable for newborn to age 3.

We ended up using our Baby Bjorn Travel Crib as both a place to sleep AND a safe area to play. You can easily move it around the house or even take it outside. There were a few days we even brought ours out on the beach! The mesh fabric provides a cool and breathable environment and the see-through fabric makes it easy to keep an eye on the baby.

TIP: In addition to a great travel crib, I suggest bringing as much as you can to recreate the same sleep environment your kids are familiar with at home. We bring the girls sound machines/night lights, books, stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, etc (whatever space will allow.) We also try to stick to the same bedtime and routine that we have at home so they are not too thrown off schedule.

2. STROLLER SYSTEM

A stroller system is key when traveling! The quality of UPPABaby products is phenomenal. I’ve been using our VISTA V2 for 2 years (almost daily) and it still looks new. While this is not the most compact stroller to bring on a vacation, this particular stroller systems allows for multiple configurations making it a great option of you are traveling with more than 1 child. If you can fit it, bring it! The entire system is easy to use and all seats and attachments are designed to work together seamlessly. Another great feature is the very roomy basket at the bottom of stroller. I linked a few of my must-have stroller accessories as well!

The UPPABaby stroller system is compatible with the UPPABaby MESA Car Seat making it easy to remove from the car and attach to the stroller frame without any special adapters. This is one of the best (and most convenient) features of the system!

A couple things to keep in mind…

Upper seat weight limit is 50, Lower seat weight limit is 35 lbs

3. BABY CARRIER

I always bring our baby carrier with us on vacation. It’s a great alternative to the stroller if you’re strapped for space or can’t bring a stroller with you. I personally like have both options for vacation. We almost always bring the stroller out and about with us, but keep the carrier in the basket below for if/when the babies want to be held. Using a carrier is much easier and more practical than carrying the baby.

Our go-to brand for baby carriers is BABYBJORN. All BABYBJORN products are reliable, durable and excellent quality. There are 2 different styles that I love. When the girls were newborn to about 6 months old, I used the BABYBJORN Baby Carrier Mini (linked below). It’s small, soft and flexible making it the perfect option for an infant. I then switched to the BABYBJORN Carrier Free (linked below), which provides a little more support as they get bigger. I love that both options are easy to put on and take off – which is KEY when it comes to baby carriers! They both also offer facing-out and back-carrying options.

4. PORTABLE HIGHCHAIR

The Inglesina Fast Table Chair is one of our most used travel items! Whether we’re on vacation or just going out to dinner, this high chair always comes with us. It’s a great, sturdy design that attaches easily to most tables (without leaving any scratch marks!) This portable high chair is super lightweight and comfortable for babies and toddlers aged 6 months to 36 months. It is also collapsible for easy travel and seat cover can be easily removed for washing.

You can purchase the Inglesina Fast Table High Chair on its own or with a removable tray. I recommend getting the removable tray as it gives the baby a clean (and easy to wash) surface to eat on.

5. SILICONE TABLEWARE

Whenever we travel I always bring the kids silicone tableware with us. Our favorite snack cups, bibs, plates and bowls are by MUSHIE. Everything is made with BPA-free and chemical-free 100% food grade silicone. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. We wash everything in the dishwasher (daily!) and it’s held up so well. The silicone also makes it easy for packing and travel. I love the color options they have available too!

PLATES and BOWLS feature a suction cup to help keep things in place and minimize spills.

Silicone BIBS are genius – they’re super easy to clean with a sponge between meals, no machine washing necessary! They also have a pocket for catching food, which means less on the ground! They resist stains and do not absorb any water, keeping baby clean and dry.

These SNACK CUPS are the best! The kids love them. They feature a soft silicone design with 2 handles – perfect for little hands. The design is also spill-proof!
