I love making fun and festive boards for the holidays. This is my first time attempting a Valentines Day spread. Typically my boards consist of a cheese and charcuterie spread but for Valentines Day, I thought it would be fun to put together a DESSERT BOARD full of cookies, candies, fresh fruit and dips!

How To Make a Valentines Day Dessert Board
WHAT YOU NEED
- WOOD BOARD
- CERAMIC HEART BOWLS
- CANDY
- COOKIES
- FRESH FRUIT
- DIPPING SAUCES (see my easy recipes below)
I purchased all the candy and cookies for my board from Homegoods. They had a huge selection of Valentines Day goodies at an affordable price.
The WOOD BOARD I used for my Valentines Day dessert spread can be purchased on AMAZON. This board is handcrafted from a solid slab of wood. I love the size and thickness! Perfect to use for any charcuterie or dessert board.
STEPS
1. BOWLS
If you plan on adding bowls to your dessert board (for dips, fruit or small candies) arrange them where you’d like on the board. These will serve as the anchor pieces. It’s easier to do this first and then fill in around them. I used these cute HEART SHAPED BOWLS!
2. COOKIES
Add your cookies next. I would suggest using different shapes and sizes. For Valentines Day, I found these super cute heart shaped cookies at Homegoods! You could also bake your own!
3. FRUIT
Next add fresh fruit to your board. I suggest berries for a Valentines Day Charcuterie board – I used strawberries and blackberries. I would also suggest keeping these whole, rather than slicing them (they’ll be easier to arrange and to dip with!)
4. CANDY
Candy is next! Use different shaped/colored candy to fill in all the empty spots on your board. You can also unwrap some of the foiled candy for more variation.
5. FLOWERS
Top off your Valentines Day Sweets Board with fresh flowers! They’re the perfect garnish to finish this beautifully festive board. I chose roses, most appropriate for the holiday!
6. DIPS
The last step is to add dip to the heart shaped bowls – do this when you’re ready to serve. Pair both these dips with your fruit and cookies! Here are 2 easy recipes for the dips I used on my Valentines Day dessert board.
Melted Chocolate – you can either melt chocolate chips or buy chocolate melts. I find chocolate melts easier to work with! You simply heat them up in the microwave. I use these DARK CHOCOLATE MELTS.
Fluff Dip – Mix together WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE & FLUFF to make this easy dip, that’s it! I do a 50/50 combo . It’s light, fluffy and delicious. Pairs perfectly with fruit.
COTTON CANDY CHAMPAGNE
If you’re looking for a fun and festive cocktail to pair with your dessert board, make cotton candy champagne! Simply place cotton candy in champagne glasses and fill with your champagne of choice (choose a rose champagne for a pop of pink!) The cotton candy will dissolve to flavor your bubbly. Garnish with a strawberry.
If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option, substitute with seltzer + pomegranate juice!
