Convert your baby headbands to bows by simply removing the elastic and replacing it with a bow clip. Keep scrolling to see how!
HOW TO CONVERT BABY HEADBANDS TO BOWS
This idea came to me when I was going through Lili’s infant bows to donate. She was starting to outgrow many of the headbands we had and I was finding it so hard to part with these cute little accessories that were such a special part of her first year. I had purchased a few bow clips (see all our favorites below!) and realized that the only thing making these bows different from our headbands….was a simple metal clip. So I searched for some hair clips online and ended up buying these RIBBON LINED CLIPS and METAL ALLIGATOR CLIPS in bulk. I’m keeping them on hand to convert all our bows.
This simple and inexpensive mom hack is a great way to make the most of your favorite baby bows so that your girls can wear them for years to come!
How to Convert Baby Headbands to Bow Clips
STEP 1:
Remove your the elastic from your baby headband. You can typically just cut the elastic with scissors and slide it out. Occasionally the the elastic piece is sewn to the bow, in which case it can be carefully snipped. Make sure to leave the bow in tact – particularly the part of the bow that the elastic was thread through (this is where you’ll be putting your clip)
STP 2:
Using a RIBBON LINED CLIP or a METAL ALLIGATOR CLIP, gently slide the top portion of he clip though the ribbon loop. If you’re concerned about the clip slipping out of the bow, use a small dab of hot glue to hold it in place (I didn’t find that this step was necessary!)
