The girls neutral playroom is complete! This is one of the rooms I’m most proud of in our home. I’m so happy we were able to create a safe and cozy space for kids to grow, play and learn. Between constantly outgrowing toys and their interests evolving, I’m sure we will be making little tweaks to this room over the years but for now, it’s perfect.
Keep scrolling for more info and links to the furnishing and decor we used in this room. And in case you’re wondering…NO, it never looks this clean!

PLAYMATS
These non-toxic PVP playmats are the BEST! So good we bought 2 of them! They come in two sizes and are reversible (the opposite side is colored elephants.) We have had ours for 2 years now and love them. They really make the room feel more comfortable and provide a soft, cushiony surface for the kids. They clean up great too! Anything we’ve ever spilled on these has wiped right up.
I wanted to cover as much space as possible so we purchased 2 – one in each size. The front mat is the larger size, the back mat (by the couch) is the smaller.

TOY SHELF
I like to keep all of our special educational and Montessori style toys in one place. I found this tall, slim shelf for the corner of the room and added bins and boxes to help organize the toys. I also use mesh zipper bags to keep all of our puzzles and other multi-piece toys together and organized (I store them in the 2 large wood bins on the bottom shelf.) Everything is linked below!

AMERICAN FLAG
This was a vintage find! I found this 48 star American Flag while shopping at an antique store in Newport, RI with my girlfriends many summers ago. I bought it long before I had kids, but always envisioned it in a playroom. It’s perfect. I suggest looking for something similar on ETSY!
TEEPEE
The best thing about this teepee is its size – it’s 7 ft tall! This was the tallest and widest teepee I could find. I wanted something that James and I could both fit in. The kids love this teepee and use it every day. It’s one of the best investments we made for the playroom! I recommend purchasing a stabilizer for the top of the teepee to keep it securely standing. I also added a few large pillows lining the interior to maximize the space inside.
These fun LIGHTS are a fun addition to string along the outside. They have a remote control and 8 different modes to choose from.

KITCHEN
There are a lot of play kitchens out there to choose from, but this one is adorable and affordable. I love the modern looking design (looks a lot like Mom’s kitchen!) This is another one of the items the kids play with every day. Pots and pans are from IKEA.

FOAM PLAY COUCH
Another great investment – a foam play couch. This couch is used by mom and dad, just as much as it’s used by the kids. It’s a great (comfortable) seat for whoever’s playing in the playroom. It’s made up of 4 configurative pieces (two triangles, one foldable base and one foldable thin base)that can be taken apart and used to build forts, slides, climbers, etc. Ours has also doubled as a mattress for little overnight guests. I linked our exact couch below, along with an identical (but more affordable) option.
This foam couch is identical to mine, but quite a bit cheaper. It comes in multiple color options.

This is my actual couch in the color Oyster.
CLIMBER SLIDE
If you live in New England (or anywhere with cold winters!), this climber/slide combo is a must! My kids love playing on this slide indoors, especially when it’s too cold or wet to go outside. I’m so impressed with craftsmanship and quality from this brand. You can purchase the climber on its own, or with as a combo with the slide (which has a rock climbing wall on the opposite side.)

ROPE STORAGE BINS
One of my best hacks for keeping the playroom clean is purchasing large rope bins. We use these bins for our stuffed animals and any other non-educational toys (keep scrolling to see how we organize our Montessori style toys!) These bins are soft, flexible and spacious. They make cleanup so easy!

BALL PIT
Another popular toy in the playroom is our ball pit. Similar to what you’d find at a play gym, but on a smaller scale! Multiple color options available.

CHANGING TABLE
One of the best decisions we made was putting a changing table on our first floor. A fully equipped table with bins for diapers, wipes and accessories. I love this particular changing table with its open shelves, which are the perfect size to hold our wipes container and diaper bins (we use these same bins for toy storage – see below!) With an extra shelf below, this perfect little changing table also doubles as a book shelf.
