I have another completed room in our home to share with you – our master bedroom! I always dreamed of having a bedroom that I can’t wait to get home to at the end of a long day. I was determined to create a space that would give James and I that exact feeling. Despite a few finishing touches (like artwork!) I think we did a pretty good job at making our bedroom a relaxing oasis!

Before I even buy a piece of furniture or decor for a room, I like to create a vision – whether it’s a Pinterest board, a collage or a simple list of words to describe what I want the room to look like. The words that came to mind for our master bedroom were bright, clean, neutral, cozy and calm. To me that translated to a white, cream, tan, brown and antique gold color palette. It’s amazing how choosing the right colors can really set the tone for a room. A neutral palette along with crisp linens, down filled pillows and a few rustic touches was exactly what we needed to finish off this cozy space.
We began the hunt for bedroom furniture at Raymour & Flanigan. The process started with a visit to our closest store to browse the showroom. I was impressed with the amount of product they had available on the showroom floor as well as the customer service we received during our visit. The very first item we chose was our upholstered bed (see more on that below.) The minute we saw the headboard we knew it was the one!
After visiting the Raymour Flanigan showroom we decided to check out the furniture available at www.raymourflannigan.com as well. Turns out they have a HUGE selection of decor and furnishings online too. We were able to get our bedside table, accent chairs and accent table all online!
Our favorite thing about shopping at Raymour & Flanigan? Quality furniture at affordable prices. They offer a wide range of furniture at all different price points to accommodate everyone’s budget. For our bedroom, we chose certain items to splurge on (like our accent chairs) and other to save on (like our bed). Having this type of flexibility allowed us to piece together the master bedroom of our dreams AND stay within our budget.

BED
I love the soft look of an upholstered headboard, but wanted something other than the traditional tufted style. I was happy to discover this channeled style headboard during my initial visit to the Raymour & Flanigan showroom floor. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for! It’s very similar to a designer brand bed that I’ve had my eye on for months, but at a much better price point. This bed served as the anchor piece in our room and set the stage for all the other furniture and decor we chose. The frame is upholstered in soft chenille fabric in a neutral color that fit my vision for this room perfectly. The color we chose is Beige, but if you prefer to make more of a statement, this headboard comes in a beautiful dark gray color too!
We were pleasantly surprised to find that this bed not only looks good, but was functional too! It comes with a built-in storage drawer at the foot of the bed which is perfect for housing an extra set of sheets and blankets. Extra storage is always a good thing!
BEDSIDE TABLES
I went back and forth between traditional bedside tables (with drawers and storage) or something more modern and sleek (but less functional). After much browsing I came across these gorgeous marble-topped tables that I had to have. They’re simple but stunning. To make them slightly more functional, I added a wood catch-all bowl to my side of the bed to hold essentials. I may also add a small basket under each table if we find the lack of storage space an issue. But for now I LOVE the way they look in this room!
These are actually considered “accent tables” not bedside tables. If you’re interested in something less traditional for either side of your bed, I recommend looking beyond the “Nightstand” section and browse the Accent Tables or End Tables sections.
ACCENT CHAIRS
I always knew I wanted a seating area in our bedroom. We have beautiful views out our bedroom windows so the more spaces to sit and appreciate them the better! I found the perfect wood and leather accent chairs to complement this space. The dark leather upholstery and rich wood frame really pop against the white walls and neutral colors in this room. I was also very impressed with the quality of these chairs. I know we’ll have them for a very long time!
Unfortunately, these exact chairs sold out but I linked a few very similar leather/wood options available at Raymour & Flanigan above (THIS ONE is almost identical!)
ACCENT TABLES
Last but not least we needed a small accent table to finish off our seating area. We chose a glass top table with antique gold hardware from Raymour & Flanigan. Glass or acrylic pieces are a great way to add furniture without making a space look too crowded or heavy – especially if you’re working with a small area. This coffee table ended up being the perfect piece to place between our accent chairs, creating a cozy little corner to hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea!
This accent table actually comes as a set of two nesting tables that can be used together or on their own. I wish we could have used both in this room but we didn’t have the space. Instead we used the smaller of the two tables and will find a use for the larger piece somewhere else in the house.
That’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed seeing our Master Bedroom Reveal. I’ll be sharing more on all the decor and smaller details in a blog post coming soon!
