Our guest suite is complete! The finished product is a bright, neutral and cozy spot for our guests to enjoy when they visit. James and I love to entertain and often host friends and family from out of town. We always knew we wanted a guest suite in our home but went back and forth over the placement. Ultimately we decided to put this guest bedroom/bathroom on the first floor and it’s been the best decision. The first floor of our home was designed for entertaining, so it only made sense to have the overnight room for guests on the first floor as well. It makes it easy for visitors to arrive and settle in, without ever needing to go upstairs (we reserved the second level of our home for family bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry.)

GUEST SUITE
FINISHES
The PAINT color used in this room is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. It’s a beautiful white – soft, but not too warm. The FLOORS throughout our home are 8″ wide extra long boards made of 100% character grade white oak wood. Our DOORS are a custom 3 panel design by Simpson Door Co finished.
RUG
The rug we chose for this room is just as soft as it is pretty! The braided wool and feels so nice under your feet. We have it in the color “off white.”

FURNITURE
The furniture in this room is a mixture of rustic and mid-century modern. The headboard and dresser are part of the same set (exact options linked below), while the end tables and bench were purchased separately (similar options linked below). You can also purchase the full bed (headboard and footboard option.)
The gorgeous cow hide mid-century modern chair was the first piece of furniture I purchased for our new home. At the time, I had no idea where we’d put it. Turns out it fits perfectly in our guest suite! Its so unique and a great statement piece.

BEDDING
I love a cozy bed with layers. I start with a linen duvet layered with a chunky knit blanket and topped off with a quilt.

DECOR & DETAILS
The table lamps in the guest suite are by Ralph Lauren Home. I wasn’t able to find them online, but I found an almost identical style (linked below.)
The drapes hung in this room are one of my best Amazon finds! They’re a very affordable price for pinch pleat drapes and come with optional blackout liners as well. The seller is very easy to work with and will make custom lengths upon request (at no additional charge!) We got the option without blackout liner, as the drapes are more decorative in this room. For more details on how to order these drapes, see my post AMAZON FIND: CUSTOM PINCH PLEAT DRAPES.
For privacy and darkening, we had these CUSTOM ROMAN SHADES made. Both treatments were done in white and I love the combination!

For dresser styling I used a mix of new and antique terra-cotta vases. I added faux branches (another Amazon find!) that are a great alternative to the real thing.

I’m a sucker for a good coffee table book and these are two of my favorites! I stacked them in the center of the dresser and layered with a limestone knot figurine.

I love adding mirrors to make a room feel bigger and found this gorgeous arched mirror, perfect for a dresser or console table. I went back and forth about hanging it but ultimately liked the way it looked resting on the dresser.
The artwork layered in front of the mirror was a DIY project! I purchased an 11″ x 14″ framed canvas print and painted over it. I then used a charcoal crayon to ‘scribble’. My inspiration was THIS PIECE by Studio McGee!
The black terra-cotta bowl was also a DIY project. I painted the bowl with flat black spray paint and rubbed some dirt on it to give it that ‘aged’ look. My inspiration for this piece was the Pottery Barn Orion bowl linked below!

BATH
Our guest suite bathroom is equally as bright as the bedroom – I love all the natural light in here! On the FLOORS we used a mix of Carrera and Calcutta marble laid in a herringbone pattern. All FIXTURES are polished chrome. The PAINT color matches that of the bedroom – Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace.
The mini rug in front of the vanity is a vintage find. It’s a Turkish rug I found on ETSY.

All the fixtures in this bathroom are by Kohler. We chose a modern style in polished chrome. We are very happy with the quality of all the Kohler products used throughout the house – I would highly recommend! Shower curtain and open weave basket are not online, but I linked similar options below.

I love placing all my soaps, lotions, shampoos and conditioners in amber glass bottles. They look so pretty on a vanity or countertop! I used 16 oz bottles for hand soap/lotion and 32 oz bottles for shampoo/conditioner. I linked both the bottles and the waterproof labels I use below.
