Heading to the beach with your baby or toddlers this summer? Being prepared with the right products can make all the difference. Over the past few years I’ve purchased a variety of beach gear I thought would help keep the kids entertained, comfortable and protected from the sun. I swear by all these products and they have certainly made our beach trips more convenient and comfortable for the girls and Mom and Dad! Keep scrolling for our favorite baby & toddler beach products!
1. BEACH TENT
This pop-up tent is SO easy to set up – only took us a few minutes. I love the XL size that can comfortably fit multiple babies and adults. It provides great UV protection from the sun and has 3 ventilating windows to help with airflow throughout the tent. Lightweight and easy to fold, it’s the perfect item to travel to and from the beach with! Comes in multiple colors.
2. NON INFLATABLE POOL
After our first summer using an inflatable pool at the beach, I came across a much more convenient option. It’s this non-inflatable (no air pump necessary!) kiddie pool that folds up compact making it easy to travel to and from the beach. It’s available in 4 different sizes and multiple colors. The quality is great and it’s less than $30.
3. QUICK DRY TOWEL
Microfiber towels are known to dry faster than standard beach towels. We found them to absorb water SO well and were the perfect option for our girls. They’re also lightweight and roll up nice and compact saving you lots of room in your beach bag! Whether you’re using them as the kids beach towels or to keep on hand to wipe their eyes, dry things off, etc. – they are a must have for your beach bag. They also repel sand better than a standard beach towel! I have the color “Bora Bora Beige”.

4. NON INFLATABLE FLOAT
This is one of the best pool/beach items we purchased for the girls – they both lived in these floats all summer long! They can float on their back or stomach. I also love that they come with a removable shade to protect baby from the sun.
5. RASHGAURD SHIRT
I like to keep a rashgaurd shirt in my beach bag to throw on Emilia if needed. I typically put her in a normal swimsuit and just have one of these on hand if we need extra protection from the sun. It provides all-day, UPF 50+ sun protection – no sunscreen needed. This one comes in multiple colors – I love the ruffle detail!
6. KIDS BEACH CHAIR
Once your little one reaches the toddler years, I recommend upgrading to this KIDS BEACH CHAIR. I’m a huge fan of this brand for kids (they make awesome adult chairs too!) They literally have thought of everything when it comes to what a toddler/kid would need in a beach chair. My feature is the 2 large plastic cupholders, making it easy for your kids to use for drink and snack cups. They also fold up into a backpack for easy carrying. USE CODE: JENLTOP for 10% off!
7. TRAVEL BOOSTER SEAT
If you’re looking for a great chair for kids under 2 years old, this little travel booster seat is the perfect accessory for the beach. A removable tray is included making it especially great for lunches on the go. It easily pops open and folds down for convenient storage and travel.
8. RUBBER BEACH BAG
If you’re looking for the perfect “Mom” bag for the beach – this is it! It’s rubber bag that’s lightweight, spacious and easy to clean. It’s a multipurpose bag but I love to use mine at the beach. The tote features a treaded non-slip bottom and zipper pockets inside.
9. THINK BABY SUNSCREEN
Here’s the stick version which I prefer for face application.
After doing much research, this sunscreen seemed to be the most popular among Mom’s (see the reviews!) We used it recently and were very happy with it ourselves. It’s a clean mineral sunscreen free of PABA, parabens, phthalates, BPA, oxybenzone, avobenzone, petroleum, gluten, dairy, and toxic chemicals. It’s dermatologist recommended and great for babies with sensitive skin. This sunscreen is also water resistant and easy to apply using a SUNSCREEN SPONGE (linked below!)
This is one of the best baby hacks I learned thanks to social media! Try applying sunscreen with a makeup sponge or makeup brush. We all know how difficult it is to apply sunscreen on a squirmy baby – especially their face. Using a makeup sponge makes it so much easier and enjoyable for both you and your babe. Emilia laughs the entire time I apply it using these sponges! I always keep one of these in my beach bag.
10. SNACK CONTAINERS
We’ve been using these snack cups since the kids were babies. The silicone is nice and soft on their hands and *most* snacks stay well contained. They’re great for puffs, crackers, blueberries, etc. We love all MUSHIE products! They’re easy to clean and dishwasher safe!
Now that the kids are a little older, we started using this fun SNACK SPINNER! You can fill with a bunch of different snacks for them to enjoy for a day at the beach. This also works great for car rides!
11. SAND DOLLS
Found them for $15 less but they are final sale. See link below:
These cute little SAND DOLLS are genius! They are completely beach friendly and can we filled with sand or water. My girls spent hours playing with them. They come with a sand shovel and matching sunglasses for your little one and the doll. SO CUTE!
12. PORTABLE CLIP-ON FAN
This portable clip-on fan is one of our most used baby items during the summer months. I initially bought it for the stroller on hot summer walks, but it works great at the beach too! We clipped ours to the top of the tent for some extra air flo. It has a rechargeable battery (USB), vertical + horizontal rotation and multiple speeds!
13. WATER SHOES
If your little one is walking it may be a good idea to grab some mini water shoes. These will help protect your baby’s feet from hot sand, sharp shells and rocks. They’re made of stretchy, flexible and breathable fabric with anti-slip rubber sole. Great for beach or lake!
14. POP-UP PLAYPEN
15. UPF SUN HAT
The best way to keep the sun off your baby’s face is with a UPF hat! We have tried many sun hats and this style wins by a landslide. I LOVE these hats for the girls (they come in a boys version too!) They’re super lightweight and comfortable – the only hats my girls will keep on their heads. I also love that they offer ear and neck protection.
16. MESH BACKPACK
If you’re carting around sandy beach toys and towels this mesh bag is a must-have! I bought this backpack style for the girls to use. They’re completely made of mesh allowing sand to easily passthrough and not get trapped anywhere. Give the bag a good shake before putting it in your car to let all the sand fall through. Great for having your littles help carry things (like their sand toys) to the beach! There are 3 different compartments and also a 2 spots for water bottles.
17. SHELL BAG
My girls are very into collecting sea shells so I bought a few of these bags for them to use at the beach. They’re mesh for quick drying and perfect size for your kiddos. My girls love them!
