I remember the day my dad explained to me what a “first down” was in the game of football. He drew it out on a yellow sticky note. That was the day my love for the game began. My Dad’s been a loyal Patriot’s fan for as long as I can remember. Not a fair weather fan…a diehard fan. I remember him wearing his white long sleeve throwback tee around the house when I was little…well before it was considered a “throwback”. My Dad was routing for New England when the team had yet to win any Super bowls and before anyone knew the name Tom Brady. After growing up with many Sundays full of pre-games, games and post-games, it didn’t take long for me to become a Patriots fan myself.
Whether you like the Pats or not, it’s likely you’ll be celebrating the big game this weekend. If you’re stuck with nothing to wear, check out these basic tips on how to dress for the Super Bowl.
How to Dress for the Super Bowl
Keep it Simple
When it comes to NFL style, simple is best. Dressing for the game can be as simple as wearing your favorite team’s colors. If you choose to go for a logo, don’t overdo it. Pick one clothing item or accessory to display your team pride. A hat would be my suggestion. If you’re a New England fan, check out my picks in the Shop the Feed section below.
Go for the Throwback
Classic throwback logos are my favorite. My preference would be finding an actual vintage item – like the shirt my dad use to wear. Since it’s unlikely you’ll get your hands on vintage goods, wearing your teams original logo is a great second option. The throwback trend has caught on over the past few years so there are plenty of options out there to choose from.
Wear Something Comfortable
Comfort is key. Take advantage of this laid back get-together to wear something comfy and forgiving! It’s likely your party will be full of delicious and unhealthy treats so wear something you can comfortably lounge and over-eat in.
