Are all your presents wrapped and under the tree?? If the answer is NO…there’s no need to fear! I have some easy last minute gift wrap ideas to share with you. Instead of buying your gift wrap this year, I would encourage you to recycle and repurpose where you can – making the most of what you already have. I didn’t spend a dime on gift wrap this year. I wrapped these gifts using items I found around my house – inside and outside. These crafty and resourceful tips will make your Christmas gift wrapping easy AND affordable this holiday season!
Last Minute Gift Wrap Ideas
Mix & Match Paper
There’s no need to run out to the store to buy new wrapping paper for your presents this year. Take a look at what you’ve got lying around and don’t be afraid to mix and match different patterns. This gift wrap is all left over paper purchased from Marshalls last year. It doesn’t necessarily “match” but it certainly doesn’t clash – I actually love the way it looks together! I recommend Marshalls for gorgeous and inexpensive gift wrap. Brown craft paper is another affordable option.
Repurpose Shopping Bags
One of my best gift wrapping tips is to repurpose shopping bags! It’s likely you have paper shopping bags in your recycle bin that can be reused as gift bags and/or wrapping paper. Look for bags with festive colors and pretty patterns for the holidays (Pottery Barn and Anthropologie bags are my favorite!). If they have a logo on them just cover it up with a pretty gift tag or other decorative detail. You can also use the inside of grocery bags to mimic brown craft paper.
Use String Or Twine
No ribbon? No problem! Instead using yarn, string, or twine! (black/white or red/white) I used twine, doubling it up and tying a simple bow. I would recommend these options over ribbon in general – they’re so much more affordable than ribbon and I love the simple look.
Get Clippings From Outside
Dress up your gifts with greenery! Just step outside and take a look at the trees and bushes around your house. I clipped a few sprigs off two bushes on either side of my front door. You could even cut some greens off your Christmas tree. SO EASY! Fresh clippings add an extra festive touch to your gifts!
For an extra special touch you can add a festive ornament or decoration. I ventured outside for the pinecones – another free and easy natural element. The red artificial berry pick used was taken off an old Christmas wreath. It was the perfect pop of color for my neutral wrapping paper!
